The Governors of St Paul’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a Clark to the Governing Body to support governance at this successful Academy school from September 2021. This role is critical to the effective operation of the Governing Body.
We are a popular Church of England school, firmly rooted at the heart of the Tupsley community for over 150 years, and with established Christian values at the heart of all that we do. We have 2 form entry, with 425 on roll now. We were judged Outstanding and Excellent respectively at our most recent Ofsted (2014) and SIAMS Church of England (2019) inspections.
The main roles of the Clerk are to provide the Governors with administrative and organisational support and with guidance on governance, constitutional and procedural matters.
We are looking for a Clerk who has:
experience of clerking in schools or academies or experience of school governance;
a keen interest in supporting high standards of school governance;
excellent administration and organisational skills and attention to detail;
strong written and verbal communication skills;
the ability to develop effective working relationships and to offer constructive challenge where appropriate; and
proficient IT skills.
In return our School will offer you:
a friendly and supportive Governing Body;
a flexible work pattern; and
training to support your development.
You would be required to attend three evening meetings of the Full Governing Body and 6 daytime meetings of the Resources Committee each year at school plus a small number of other meetings. The rest of the role can be done from home at your convenience.
