Learning Support Assistants

Annual full-time salary based on working school term-time is within the range £13,463.54 to £13,808.77

Hourly rate inclusive of holiday pay is £10.05 to £10.31

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Learning Support Assistants to join the staff at The Steiner Academy Hereford for a September 2020 start.

There are a number of opportunities available and employment may be offered on a fixed-term or casual basis. Additionally, the hours you may be offered will be dependant on the number of candidates appointed and your skills and expertise matched against the specific individual needs of our pupils. Most LSA’s in this school work on a fixed amount of hours between 12 and 24 per week. You will be expected to work supporting pupils in class / in small groups / or on a one-to-one basis as appropriate.

We are looking for LSAs who have:

  • Excellent communication skills - an ability to build positive relationships with children who may display challenging behaviour;
  • An empathic, patient and caring approach combined with the ability to support children struggling with expectations and boundaries;
  • The ability to track, monitor and evaluate their work;
  • An understanding of the complex needs of children who have social, emotional and mental health needs;
  • Experience of working with and a feeling for our natural environment;
  • The ability to work independently;
  • Experience of supporting learning of children aged 6-16;
  • Availability between Monday to Friday during normal school hours.
