Job Summary and Duties
We are looking for bank staff to join our opportunity team, supporting adults within the community of Hereford and supporting them in a variety of activities that can include; Bowls, Skittles, Dance/Drama, Yoga, Marital Arts, 10 pin bowling, pool, swimming and a wide range of other leisure activities. Experience is essential to be successful in this role and a familiarity of working in the health and social care sector during the pandemic is preferable. Our main building is located in the centre of Hereford, but we have just taken on additional site in Hereford from April 2021 temporarily, to be able to continue supporting people within the current restrictions from both locations. We are looking to recruit staff that could provide cover Monday to Friday 9:00am - 3:30pm. The successful applicant will have access to regular hours. Driving is preferred and parking is available on site. If you are a non-driver, you must be willing and able to travel between the two locations.
Skills and Experience
The people we support have a range of disabilities that require support in a 1:4 ratio in the community. A great sense of humour and a creative nature is essential to be successful in this role. You must have a person centred approach, a strong passion for empowering and promoting social inclusion. Part of this position will include supporting with community based activities so an outgoing, enthusiastic individual would be the perfect fit! The role of the bank support worker is to provide cover for staff absence and annual leave, which could be with short or long-term notice and planning however for the right candidate, regular hours can be considered. If you have experience of working with adults, have some additional time to make a difference and can offer flexible support we may just be the right setting for you. This is a location that provides experiences and opportunities and does not include personal care. You should have a good knowledge and understanding of the practices surrounding PPE equipment and COVID safety regulations.
