  • Outdoor Curriculum / Forest School

  • All teachers, All Support Staff, and external agencies


Main Purpose of Job:

  • To plan and delivery the HPRS Outdoor Curriculum and Forest School provision as directed, in order to meet the needs, abilities and aspirations of the pupils.
  • To provide an engaging and challenging outdoor curriculum that teaches pupils skills in the area of land based study, which could include (depending on skills, experience and qualifications);
    • Basic countryside and land maintenance
    • Animal care and husbandry
    • Horticulture, Conservation and sustainability
    • Bushcraft
    • Outdoor art and crafts
    • Outdoor activities and physical activity such as basic navigation, fitness, and adventurous activities
    • Communication, teamwork, leadership and outdoor safety skills 
  • To plan, deliver and assess vocational outdoor / land based qualifications that are appropriate for the needs and abilities of HPRS pupils
  • Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class/es ensuring equality of opportunity for all;
  • Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct;
  • Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position;
  • Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, the management committee, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils;
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school and outdoor environment.
