Job details

Required as soon as possible

Nurture Provision Assistant – 15 hours per week – HC4 (with additional payment – see below)

This is initially a project that will run until the end of this academic year but we will be looking to extend the post subject to funding.

Since September 2021, Broadlands has been taking part in a local authority project creating Nurture provision for pupils between the ages of 4 and 7 to help support them overcome any social and emotional barriers they face. In the morning the children will be in our Nurture Provision classroom working with a teacher and Nurture Support Assistant. In the afternoons the children will integrate into their year group classes and your role will be to support the children with this. You will work under the supervision of the Nurture Group Class Teacher as well as the year group class teacher to provide a consistent link for the pupils to help they achieve and succeed. Whilst the post is paid at HC4, honorarium payments will be made to increase the payment to the equivalent of a HC5 role.

Whilst the Nurture Provision aspect of the post is initially to be reviewed at the end of the first year we are hopeful that it will be extended. Ideally we would like the candidate to do afternoons (12.15 – 3.15pm) however we may have the capacity to change the working pattern to full time Mon-Fri for the right candidate. There may also be the possibility to extend the hours to a full time position if the candidate is interested at working at other schools within the federation doing a similar role.

Governors are keen to continue to recruit teachers of high quality with dedication and a passion for delivering excellent learning opportunities for children whilst supporting the school’s values culture.

Broadlands Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to provide a DBS Disclosure.
