Vision Homes Association is a well-respected care organisation that supports adults who have learning, physical, communication and sensory disabilities.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our staff team, working 17.5 hours per week, worked as either 1 or 2 shifts.

As part of our Supported Living Services you will be working solo, providing support to a woman with multiple disabilities and healthcare needs so that she can live independently within her own home, in a location near to Leominster and Ludlow. Your duties will include supporting her with her daily routines (which include her personal care and support with medical treatments and interventions) and her busy social life within the local community. 

The successful candidate must be available to work a 4-weekly rolling shift pattern. Completion of a regular Sleep-In shift is also an expectation of the role which is in addition to your contracted working hours and paid separately, in line with National Living wage regulations.
You should also be flexible to work additional shifts to help cover staff absences, possibly at short notice.

What we need from you:

Previous experience is not essential as we provide full induction training and support. People join us from many different backgrounds; it's more important to us that you are understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, are reliable and are willing to learn.
We are ideally looking for someone with a positive “can-do” attitude and the stamina and enthusiasm to keep up with this lady’s busy life.
Your own car/ transport to get to and from work and a clean driving licence would also be advantageous, in order to drive this individual’s Motability car.

If you are successful and offered a position, we will need a short period of time to deal with any administration and checks that we need to carry out – taking up references and applying for an enhanced DBS disclosure. Once everything is satisfactorily completed we will arrange a start date with you for your induction period.
