Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours. A part time option of 30 hours may be considered

Pay: £21,169 per annum or pro rata

The Building Better Opportunities project brings together funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.  Run in conjunction with The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the project aims to provide pre-employment support within Herefordshire for disadvantaged people aged 19 and over who are not in work. Vennture is one of a number of partners who will assist in providing access to a wide and diverse range of volunteering opportunities enabling more disadvantaged people to move into further education or training having acquired basic skills, increased confidence and motivation through personalised support that will equip them with the abilities needed to move toward and into employment

Do you want to make a difference and do something meaningful?

Vennture is seeking an additional BBO link worker for our Fresh Start Team. The Link Worker will work alongside individuals who are finding things tough and need help to overcome the barriers they are facing to reach their full potential. You will be trained in our relational approach which allows you to come alongside people who are struggling with multiple issues and are not in work and find out what they feel they need. You will work directly with them and provide practical and emotional support to help them build confidence and begin the journey of achieving sustainable change. Our vision is to ‘Help people to help themselves’ and allow them to create their own progress path to move forward.

The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage a demanding workload and most important of all – genuine hard-edged compassion and understanding. It requires a resourceful, creative approach to problem solving and the ability to stick with people through thick and thin. You will be working in a strong, supportive team based in our lovely new offices, close to the city centre with space to work collaboratively. We will provide opportunities for training, but knowledge and experience of the issues faced by individuals with multiple and complex needs will be beneficial to the role. You will need to be a car driver with access to a car.

If you are an inspirational and committed individual with a real desire to help people, we want to hear from you.
