Are you interested in joining our friendly and hard-working team, working with children with severe and complex needs, autism and challenging behaviours between the ages of 2 – 11 years?

We have openings for Level 2 Teaching Assistants (HC05 SCP 6-11), with additional Special School Childrens Superintendent hours (HC04 SCP 4-6).

We require suitably qualified Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work term time only, 8:45-3:30pm (with a 30 min lunch break)

We are looking for:

  • Kind, calm and enthusiastic teaching assistants, who will be part of a class team, working in support of up to 9/10 pupils.
  • Teaching assistants who are flexible, encouraging and committed to the progress of every child, regardless of their starting points or the barriers to learning that they have to overcome.

We can offer:

  • A supportive team used to working together
  • Excellent opportunities for continuing professional development
  • A friendly and stimulating environment in which to work

Does this sound like something that you might make a positive contribution to?

A place where you will be able to enhance our teaching and learning and somewhere that you can grow as a professional?

If so, then we look forward to receiving your application.

Experience working within a special school is not essential but enthusiasm, dedication and a genuine desire to work with our children are paramount.

If you have these qualities, combined with a good sense of humour, then please come and visit the school, where you can meet the children and the school team.

Blackmarston School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
