We require a full time SENCo that has the appropriate qualifications and/or experience to join our team at Earl Mortimer College. The ideal candidate must have previous experience as a qualified SENDCo/Inclusion Manager who has knowledge of EHCPs and managing a team of Learning Support Assistants.

We require someone who will:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the school’s SEN strategy and policy
- Carry out assessments of students with SEN to identify needs and monitor progress – including observations in the classroom and meeting with teachers and parents
- Work with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor individual support/learning plans
- Provide regular updates on student progress through written reports and meetings with parents
- Make referrals and liaise with professionals outside of the school
- Provide advice, guidance and training to classroom teachers on supporting students with SEN including developing appropriate schemes of work, learning programmes and effective behaviour management approaches
- Manage and advise on the school budget and resources for SEN provision
- Develop and maintain systems for keeping student records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
- Analyse school, local and national data and develop appropriate strategies and interventions
- Manage a team of Learning Support Assistants to improve student progress and attainment
- Keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and keep colleagues updated
- Work collaboratively with the Assistant SENCo and Base Manager to co-ordinate provision in our ASD Base
