Traineeships are training programmes that combine on-the-job training with classroom learning. They’re ideal for young people aged 16-24 who have got some idea of what they’d like to do, but are not totally sure. In essence, they provide an intensive period of work experience and training to give you the best opportunity of entering an apprenticeship or employment.

A traineeship, allows you to try out a work environment that you may be interested in without having to make a long term commitment. At the same time, you can be getting support to improve your maths, English and ICT skills and undertaking a number of ‘employability’ skills, for example in CV writing, interview techniques, communication and team working.
