Industry-leading software solutions company Unit4 recently published a blog entitled Driving Efficiency Gains Through Shared Services. The blog uses Hoople as model for combining core operational tasks in order to eliminate duplication of effort and deliver efficiency savings.

The blog is a response to research which found that 95% of the public sector organisations surveyed were looking to make cost savings. It promotes a shared service operational model as an alternative to redundancies, pay freezes or selling assets, which, it argues, damages the organisation's capacity to fulfil it function.
