Job details

Teaching is a challenging and rapidly changing profession but if you are looking for a
purpose in your teaching career, above and beyond anything that can be found in a
mainstream school, then your career in Special Needs education can start at our school.
We aim to support our pupils and their carers, as well as across all aspects of our working
practice, by offering pupils a safe, exciting and stimulating environment to work in and our
staff a range of CPD opportunities that will allow them to become the best practitioners they
can be. We will nurture, challenge and develop any staff who are fortunate enough to work at
our school, in the same way that we look to meet the ongoing needs of the children and
families in our care.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher to develop their own teaching skills and
knowledge of SEND, or for teachers with existing SEND experience.
We are looking for:
• A kind, calm and enthusiastic teacher who will lead a class team of teaching assistants
• A teacher who is highly organised, flexible and committed to the progress of every
child, regardless of their starting points or barriers to learning
We can offer:
• A supportive team used to working together
• The opportunity to work within and supported by a distinctive curriculum pathway.
• Excellent opportunities for continuing professional development
• A friendly and stimulating environment in which to work
Does this sound like something that you might make a positive contribution to? A place
where you will be able to enhance our teaching and learning offer and somewhere that you
can grow as a teaching professional? Then we look forward to receiving your application.

Safeguarding statement:
Blackmarston School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and
Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted
in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all
convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected"
under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
