Learning Support Assistant

We are looking for a positive and committed Learning Support Assistant who has an absolute belief in the limitless potential of young people and the patience and creativity to help them flourish. 

Fairfield is a happy, successful school and you will have the opportunity to work across the 11-16 age and ability range enabling young people to achieve their personal best. 

This post will be linked to a specific child's funding while they are being educated at Fairfield High School. 

We are looking for someone with excellent organisation and communication skills who will be able to work successfully as part of a team and on their own initiative under the direction of the Special Needs Co-Ordinator. 

Applicants will need to be calm and kind, with an understanding of the needs and difficulties of teenagers. You will be promoting positive behaviour and offering a range of support to our students both in and out of the classroom. 

Relevant experience working with SEMH students is desired but not essential.  

Fairfield High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
