Job details
Kingstone High School is seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Music to join our Creative Arts Faculty due to the relocation of our current post holder. We strive to make learning music at Kingstone a brilliant and rewarding experience. Music has a central place in the life of the school: both within the KS3 and the KS4 curriculum, where music is offered at GCSE, and in its contribution to extra-curricular activities.
The successful candidate will deliver high quality lessons and ignite the enthusiasm of students and enhance and further develop our extra-curricular programme. We have a well-resourced music department and performance area.
Applications from both ambitious colleagues and ECTs would be most welcome (full induction and mentoring package provided for ECTs). In return, we offer the opportunity to teach fantastic students, as well as a committed and supportive staff team who are keen to develop and learn. There are excellent CPD opportunities to grow and develop through mentorship and coaching.
In addition to the main teaching role, there is an opportunity for candidates to apply for an additional responsibility as Head of Year (TLR2B), for which a full job description is provided. Applicants who wish to be considered for both the teaching position and the Head of Year role should include a clearly identified additional section within their letter of application outlining their suitability for this responsibility. Applications are warmly welcomed from those who wish to be considered for the teaching role only, without the additional responsibility.
You will be joining a staff team committed to promoting enjoyment and high achievement for all of our students. Therefore, if you are an enthusiastic classroom practitioner with high expectations and an ability to inspire, enthuse and challenge students to raise standards of achievement at all levels we would like to hear from you.
In return, we offer:
· A school with a strong commitment to your professional development
· A working environment focused on Teaching and Learning and raising standards for all
· The opportunity to work in a staff team where your skills, enthusiasm and hard work will be appreciated
· A school where staff wellbeing is a priority
Kingstone Academy Trust reserves the right to withdraw this advert prior to the closing date should a successful candidate be identified.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All vacancies that involve working with vulnerable adults and/or children will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at Enhanced Level, along with other standard pre-employment checks.
