Job details

Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential? Are you committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive? Lady Hawkins’ School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Officer to join our team.

About Us

Lady Hawkins’ School, located in the beautiful rural town of Kington, Herefordshire, has been providing high-quality education for over 392 years. Our vision is to create a safe and supportive environment where every student feels valued and part of our community. We foster a culture of pride in who we are and what we can achieve together, inspiring students to strive for excellence and empowering them to contribute positively beyond the school gates.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection, the inspectors recognised the school as a "good" school where students are well-supported, and behaviour is improving. They praised our commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere and noted the strong relationships between staff and students.

The Role

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in promoting positive behaviour and supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning. You will work closely with staff, students, and families to ensure that every child feels supported and able to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with students and provide one-to-one and small-group interventions to support their emotional and behavioural development.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to implement behaviour management strategies across the school.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s behaviour policy and contribute to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive school culture.
  • Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies to provide holistic support for students in need.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for supporting young people and helping them to overcome challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Experience working in a school or similar setting, with knowledge of behaviour management strategies (desirable but not essential).
  • A commitment to the values of Lady Hawkins’ School and the ability to contribute positively to our community.

LHS is committed to the protection and safety of its pupils and therefore all candidates will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at Enhanced Level.
