St James’ CE Primary School is seeking a skilled and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. They will contribute proactively to planning, assessment, and the creation of a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.

The role:

  •         Support teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to help raise standards and improve pupil outcomes 
  •         Provide general classroom support alongside increased responsibilities as an HLTA
  •         Lead small‑group interventions to support pupil progress
  •         Cover classes in the teacher’s absence, delivering planned learning effectively
  •         Support planning and assessment in collaboration with teaching staff
  •         Work across year groups as required
  •         Demonstrate strong communication, behaviour management, and organisational skills 

The ideal candidate will:

  •       have proven experience working within a school setting, in particular in planning and assessments.
  •         demonstrate excellent communication skills and a caring, supportive approach
  •         work effectively as part of a team to deliver high-quality provision
