At Sutton Primary Academy, situated on the outskirts of Hereford, we are proud of our vibrant school community and our dedicated staff team.

About this role
We are now looking for a motivated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join us in September supporting a child with additional physical and communication needs (diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder) for 30 hours a week. You’ll be a vital part of our nurturing and supportive school community, helping the child to attend school safely, confidently, and happily. From providing personal care and emotional support to assisting with daily routines and learning activities, your role will be to help them thrive while promoting independence and building self-confidence as they start in Reception Class.

Experience working with children in education or other settings is desirable, if you have the right qualities, we can provide the training and support you need.

Main responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to help the child to access learning and school activities.
- Assist with communication, social interaction and building independence
- Support personal care including toileting and hygiene support in a respectful and dignified way.
- Support the child’s physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
- Work in partnership with teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
