Typical working hours:
- Early evenings during term time- EG. 4pm-7pm, although this varies child to child
- Weekends during term time are usually longer days- 10am-3pm; 3:30-7pm for example
- School holiday week days are also usually longer days such as 10am-3pm; 3:30-7pm
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Support Worker where your compassion and dedication will shine through in providing essential care and assistance to individuals in need. This role necessitates adept communication skills, experience in working with children & Young people, and a passion for working with individuals on the autism spectrum, specific learning disabilities and Down's Syndrome.
Responsibilities:
- Offer support and assistance to individuals with special education requirements
- Effectively communicate with clients, their families, and professionals
- Educate and encourage individuals to enhance their independence and quality of life
- Enable children/young people to access their local communities through taking them to places such as SoftPlay, Flipout, Farm Parks, bowling etc.
- Document sessions on Log My Care app for each session with child/YP.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with individuals with special education needs
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to educate and empower individuals towards achieving their full potential
- Knowledge and familiarity in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder
- Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential, as full training will be given.
