Thank you for taking an interest in our school. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised and literacy‑focused individual to join our staff team as a Librarian and Intervention Support.

About the Role:
Working under the direction of the Headteacher, literacy lead and class teachers, the successful candidate will: Support pupils’ literacy development and reading for pleasure across the school. Manage the daily operation of the school library, ensuring it is a welcoming, well‑organised and purposeful learning environment. Provide targeted literacy support to individuals and small groups, including pupils with special educational needs. Promote a positive reading culture through events such as book fairs, reading initiatives and pupil librarian programmes. Support teaching and learning more widely as a student services team worker both in and beyond the classroom when required.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience of working as a teacher or Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school or similar setting. Have a strong interest in literacy, reading and supporting pupils’ learning. Be organised, proactive and confident in managing resources and library systems. Relate well to pupils, staff and parents, maintaining high expectations of behaviour. Be a positive team player with a flexible and calm approach. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
