GEM Hereford is an independent SEN school which provides a unique mix of mainstream academic expectations within a supportive therapeutic environment for students aged 8 – 18 with neurodiversity, anxiety, trauma, and related diagnoses.   

    

We work across Key Stages 2, 3 & 4, and we recognise that every student is different, yet equal, with a different set of needs. We believe that all young people should be provided with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential through building resilience, self-regulation and trusting relationships. We support our students to flourish within a safe and encouraging learning environment; this promotes improved outcomes, attainment, and self-esteem.    

  

All staff are committed to treating each young person inclusively, with compassion and understanding, and are trained in our evidence-based model of working with students who are neurodiverse and often disillusioned with education and learning from poor experiences in mainstream settings.  

 

We are recruiting two teachers, at least one of whom will be able to teach maths GCSE.  
We are looking for teachers who have: 

·       Experience in teaching across Key Stages 

·       Experience in teaching neurodiverse children or willing to undergo training to build this skill 

·       A passion for working with children with SEND, particularly those who are neurodiverse 

·       Excellent communication skills 

·       Strong teamwork skills
