The Governors of Leominster Primary School are seeking to appoint a 0.6 SEND Co-ordinator to join our team, starting 1st January 2024.

The school is looking for an enthusiastic SEN professional with the capacity to think strategically and manage whole school issues. As SEND Co-ordinator at this school you will be taking responsibility for SEND learning and working alongside our part-time SEND Co-ordinator already in post, The school will expect you to be the joint first point of contact for relevant external agencies. As SEND Co-ordinator you will be keeping parents informed about their child's progress and developing relationships with the school's SEN pupils.

The ideal applicant will be a qualified teacher holding QTS, and be both highly knowledgeable and experienced with Special Educational Needs. Having the SEND Co-ordinator accreditation is a bonus but not essential, but you should have worked in a SEND Co-ordinator role within a primary school previously in your career and be willing to undertake SEND Co-ordinator o accreditation.

Most importantly you should be exceptionally passionate about making a difference to the lives of children. Naturally you will need good organisational skills and be an excellent communicator, able to fit seamlessly into the supportive team ethos across the school.

Leominster Primary School is committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE.  The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children
