Job details

Required as soon as possible

Trinity Primary School is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and resilient Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people in achieving their potential — academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll work closely under the instruction and guidance of the class-teacher(s) for whom you are providing cover. You’ll help create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

Your work will be varied — no two days are the same! You’ll be:

•    Covering the absence of teachers by supervising and supporting classes of pupils whilst they carry out pre-set activities.  These classes may be in any subject area and/or age range.
•    Managing the behaviour of pupils in accordance with school behaviour policy, whilst they carry out the task.
•    Supporting pupils’ educational, emotional, and behavioural development.
•    Promoting self-esteem, independence, and positive relationships.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

•    Has a caring, patient and empathetic nature.
•    Can remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
•    Believes in inclusive education and helping every pupil thrive.
•    Is a strong team player with good communication skills.
•    Is willing to learn — with opportunities for ongoing training and development.
•    Uses approaches such as PACE, emotion coaching, and restorative conversations to support regulation and wellbeing.

What We Offer

•    A warm, inclusive and supportive school community.
•    Comprehensive induction and CPD opportunities.
•    The chance to work alongside a dedicated, experienced team.
•    A role that makes a genuine difference — every single day.

Trinity Primary School is committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE.  The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
